Strengthening its leadership and accelerating growth in the autonomous driving sector

Wideye, AGC’s scale-up specializing in advanced glass solutions for the integration of optical sensors, continues to reach new milestones and solidify its position as a key partner for global automotive manufacturers.

Following the successful launch of its first mass-production program at the end of 2023 for a major automaker, Wideye has built strong trust by securing an additional pre-development for roof integration with a global OEM.

In parallel, market confidence in Wideye’s technology is further reflected by a momentum on windshield integration where Wideye is involved in multiple pre-development programs. This growing demand underscores the pivotal role of LiDAR sensors in the autonomous driving ecosystem and highlights Wideye’s unique expertise in enabling seamless and efficient integration.

On the international stage, Wideye is also expanding its footprint in China, launching prototyping activities and establishing a strong presence at major automotive conferences and exhibitions — further demonstrating the global relevance and appeal of its solutions.

26,500 Train Windows Treated with WAVETHRU^™ Retrofit in 2025

In 2025, more than 26,500 train windows were treated with WAVETHRU^™ Retrofit, a breakthrough solution that enhances mobile signal penetration without altering the glazing or compromising its thermal insulation.

Unlike full window replacement or the installation of active antennas, WAVETHRU^™’s laser-based treatment significantly reduces material use and lowers emissions, providing a sustainable and cost-efficient alternative for rail operators. The result: improved onboard connectivity for operators and stronger, more reliable mobile reception for passengers throughout their journeys.

Overall, more than 40,000 train windows have already been treated with the WAVETHRU Retrofit solution since the beginning of the project.

Smarter and Safer Intersections with Flow Analytics

Flow Analytics by AGC is an intelligent software platform that transforms roadside LiDAR data into actionable insights. It detects near misses and identifies risk hotspots, helping predict and prevent accidents before they occur.

The same continuous data stream also powers traffic surveys and performance audits, offering a modern, non-intrusive alternative to traditional induction loops. With intuitive dashboards and exportable evidence, Flow Analytics empowers cities to reduce accidents, optimize traffic flow, and improve intersection performance: all without the need for roadwork.

Market Launch of Decorative Interior Glazing in Serial Car Production

For years, glass has proven its efficiency as a functional material for automotive interiors, primarily serving as a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) component for display applications. As screen sizes have grown, the glass surface area within vehicles has expanded, revealing its potential as an alternative material for purely decorative applications.

FeelInGlass^® has embraced this opportunity by integrating decorative glass trim into interior design. The latest achievement features a center console framed within a sliding module, enhanced by an etched glass surface that delivers both premium aesthetics and a unique touch feeling.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for AGC, as a pioneer in interior glass solutions, and for its customer, as a first mover in adopting glass as a proven and trending trim material for modern cockpits.

AGC Expertise Centers for Best-in-Class Mobility Solutions

As innovative technologies shape the future of mobility, AGC is investing in specialized production facilities that serve as hubs of expertise. These sites are designed as centers of excellence, consolidating knowledge and skill from our new businesses. It ensures we consistently deliver products at the forefront of technology. For its glass solutions dedicated to LiDAR integration, Wideye has utilized two existing lines at the AGC Italian plant, while also investing in a new line specifically dedicated to post-processing.

While preserving its inherent network of assets dedicated to automotive exterior glazing, AGC aims at developing new processing capabilities for emerging market needs in the Mobility framework. Indeed, to keep up with upcoming trends, several lines in West Europe have been enhanced to implement new glass-related technologies developed in-house: IR glass for LiDAR integration (Wideye by AGC), ultra-thin glass processing for cockpits' applications (FeelInGlass by AGC), automotive glazing prototyping expert team (Reeflect by AGC), high-added value roof solutions (roof BU).

In the same way, our European R&D center showroom was totally revamped this year, to offer a unique discovery of AGC innovations elevating the mobility experience of today and tomorrow.

AGC Automotive Expertise Goes Beyond Our Glazing Core Business!

At AGC, we see glass as a canvas for innovation. We are pushing the boundaries of automotive design by mastering the overmolding of recycled polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomers directly onto side windows, creating perfectly integrated components while promoting sustainability.

We are also redefining the in-cabin experience by seamlessly integrating lighting devices onto panoramic sunroofs, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.

Our innovations further extend into automotive electronics, with ASPICE certification now confirming our development excellence. Our electronic control units (ECUs) transform glass into dynamic and intelligent surfaces, with the first product set to reach the market in 2026.

Together, these advancements highlight AGC’s commitment to delivering sophisticated, fully integrated solutions that are truly more than glass.

Whatever Your Cockpit Complexity, Our HUD Solutions Deliver the Best Contrast — All Year Long

The evolution from the classic HUD to the panoramic HUD enables greater cockpit customization while reducing unnecessary displays. The windshield black-band P-polarized HUD utilizes the entire width of the windscreen as a seamless, three-zone projection surface, displaying essential vehicle information directly in front of the driver, while navigation and entertainment content can be shared with all occupants via the center and passenger portion of the windscreen.

Inspired by the latter, FeelInGlass^®, AGC Automotive interior glass business unit, has developed a free-standing p-polarized reflective panel that serves as an independent projection surface. This solution can be flexibly integrated into the dashboard, independent of the windshield, significantly reducing manufacturing and replacement costs. The Reflective Blade features an encapsulated ultra-thin glass panel, able to extend from pillar-to-pillar, allowing for seamless appearance, curved finish, and flush edge.

AGC Automotive’s latest evolution of the Digital Curtain^™ smart glazing solution takes passenger comfort and privacy to a whole new level. When applied to side windows, this switchable glass technology instantly transforms from opaque black to full transparency at the touch of a button, creating a private, personalized space within the vehicle.

Digital Curtain^™ Wonderlite^® Dx Black can be configured in multiple ways, from a single continuous switch to several independently controlled zones. This flexibility enables a curtain-like design, allowing each passenger to define their own comfort and light levels with precision.

The same technology can also be seamlessly applied to panoramic glass roofs, offering a new dimension of in-cabin comfort and control.

Having Showcased at Major Events Worldwide in 2025, We’re Excited to Share a Glimpse of Our 2026 Program!

In 2025, AGC made its mark at key global mobility events across all regions.

At CES Las Vegas, under the theme “Behind Every Breakthrough,” we demonstrated how AGC’s innovations power global progress. In September, our vision “All-in-Glass Solutions. ONE Partner.” came to life at IAA Mobility Munich, showcasing how we enhance the driving experience through comfort, safety, and sustainability. Finally, Tokyo’s JMS Mobility Show in November featured our most cutting-edge technologies, solidifying AGC’s leadership in automotive innovation.

Looking ahead, 2026 is already shaping up to be another landmark year!

At CES 2026, for the first time, our Mobility, Optics, Chemicals, and Electronics divisions will join forces on a single, powerhouse booth, presenting a comprehensive portfolio of solutions that define the future of mobility. In March, Flow Analytics by AGC will take the stage at Intertraffic Amsterdam, showcasing its LiDAR-based solution for near-miss detection and intelligent intersection analytics. Then, in September, Pulsaart by AGC will headline InnoTrans Berlin, presenting its connectivity technologies that enable seamless mobility on roads, rails, and even in aerospace.

Sustainability at the Core of Our Activities to Pave the Way Toward a Greener Future

Our commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions by 40% by 2030 recorded significant progress in past years focusing on the transition to low-carbon energy sources, enhanced circularity, and AGC suppliers’ engagement, combined with reducing water consumption and waste generation.

AGC Automotive Europe has been awarded a Silver Medal from EcoVadis for our significant progress in sustainability. This achievement places us in the top 15% of all companies assessed worldwide.

In the U.S., AGC Automotive Alabaster became the first U.S. facility in the network to fully transition its operations to renewable energy through Alabama Power’s Clean Energy Select program.

The flat glass used in our European Automotive business contains 19.2% recycled content on average (2023 data).Our automotive innovations play a key role improving glazing lifecycle or optimizing vehicles mileage. Technologies such as thermal comfort glass with IR-cut and Low-Emissivity coatings reduce HVAC usage while enabling sunshades removal. Solar Roofs use the natural energy from the sun to power the car. Seamlesly integrated gaskets are offered with recycled components.
